The sailor on board the ship was out of breath and covered in seafoam.
And the Captain wasn’t impressed.
This was his watch.
He kept a tight ship.
And right about now, he wasn’t liking the cut of the sailor’s jib.
He ignored the nonsensical babble and surveyed the situation for himself, knowing the only person’s word he could trust was his own.
And hearing sharp….
He looked at his ship <and crew>
at what he saw.
Men were fighting….
And some were ducking for
With 30 years’ leadership experience he surveyed the mess and realised what was going on without needing to being told.
He marched to the net where the crew were gathered–stormed through to take a look at what had been brought to the surface– and knew there was nothing that could be presented to him…. which hadn’t been seen before.
The crew backed away as the captain of the watch stood face to face with the treasure from the deep.
There on deck the most esteemed ship in the world and on his watch no less……was a woman like none he had ever seen…..trapped within the net.
His seafaring instinct immediately kicked in and he quickly set to work…. taking the knife from his pocket and ignoring the second mate as she barked orders at the rest of the ship.
“Well don’t just fucking leave her there.
What are you waiting for?
